Rivo d’Kundarak is old enough to know a thing or two and young enough to put those things to use. Having long ago decided he was too far down the family tree to have any chance of becoming Baron of the House, he developed a wild streak that made many of his family try to distance themselves from him. He’s been all around Khorvaire, even while the war was going on (his status as a member of a Dragonmarked House earned him special neutrality privileges), has seen many things, even did a little adventuring, and all this has earned him is a keen insight into how other people handle themselves… particularly, how they handle their possessions.
These days, Rivo is more interested in directing other people to do the heavy lifting, and while his wild streak has (largely) died down, it’s left him with a strong interest in the finer things in life. Having sampled Karrnathi premium beef, Aundarian wines, and even tobacco grown in Xen’drik, he knows from experience what is good and what isn’t, and his money largely all goes into making sure his every meal is the finest quality, and his after-meal cigars are the envy of every smoke shop in Sharn. He also has a fine appreciation for art that would put even most House Phiarlan artisans to shame.
Currently, Rivo owns his own salvage business, which he created as soon as the news of the war coming to an end reached his ears. He’s a damned fine businessman, and despite most of his family members distancing themselves from him, he maintains a wealth of connections, largely by being a Silver Concord member of the Aurum; even then, the Aurum, being a collection of wealthy people who look out for one another, find Rivo as something of an oddity, as he seems only interested in money for what it can buy him, and not for the power it brings.
